ADNOC signs a cooperation agreement with KFUPM

On Sunday 11th November 2018, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has signed an agreement with King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) to study potential opportunities for research and development, promoting the training programs for KFUPM students at ADNOC and grant  the Company’s employees admission to graduate programs at KFUPM.

The agreement was signed at the headquarters of ADNOC by His Excellency Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber is Minister of State in the United Arab Emirates, the Director-General and CEO of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC Group), and Dr. Sahel N. Abduljauwad, Rector of King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals.

The agreement includes the study of cooperation between ADNOC and KFUPM in the fields of research and development, enhancement of oil extraction, improvement of field development process and the value enhancement of oil and gas processing in refining and petrochemicals. This will contribute in improving performance and enhancing asset and capital returns that lines with ADNOC 2030 Smart Growth Strategy.

The agreement will provide a mechanism for ADNOC employees to enroll in KFUPM oil and gas graduate programs and to engage in training courses to gain valuable expertise, refine and develop their talents and creations.

Dr. Abduljauwad said "KFUPM is a leading science and technology institution, focusing on research cooperation in various fields of energy. It has established a science cluster with an international research center for Oil and Gas exploration, development and production. The University has also established a strong international partnership with several leading institutions and has continued to expand cooperation with institutions in the Gulf region. This agreement is one of the practical aspects of the strategic partnership between KFUPM and ADNOC. "

This agreement between ADNOC and KFUPM is an example of a research and educational partnership that will benefit both parties. The University is a rich resource in advanced research and technological expertise, taking advantage of the latest technological developments in companies to develop their curricula and courses, enhancing knowledge among faculty and researchers, and providing education and professional development for corporate employees. "


The agreement will strengthen the partnership with ADNOC in various fields and will contribute to the building of joint strategies for the two parties in line with the vision of Saudi Arabia and the UAE. He added.
