Eastern Province Governor Patronizes ARGAS Ground Breaking Ceremony at Dhahran Techno Valley

 
-         Dr. Sultan: 18 R&D centers in DTV Science Park, representing more than 1 Billion Saudi Riyals investment.
-         Dhahran Techno Valley now includes research centers of the world's largest oil and gas exploration companies.
-         The second phase of the valley will focus on oil and gas downstream industry and renewable energy sources
 
The ceremony held at the headquarters of Dhahran Techno Valley and attended by a large number of senior officials, economists and journalists from inside and outside the Kingdom. Attendants included HE Eng. Ali Al-Naimi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, HE Dr. Khalid Al-Sultan, Rector of King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, and Chairman of DTVC Board and Engineer Amin Al-Nasser, President & CEO of Saudi Aramco.
HE Dr. Khalid Al-Sultan, Rector of King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, appreciated the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef, Governor the Eastern Province, to the activities of the ceremony. HE Dr. Al-Sultan addressing the Governor the Eastern Province : "Your presence in this event honoring us and is considered a recognition of the status of a university actively involved in building a knowledge-based society, and it is a support for its efforts in the development of a strong partnership with the industry, opening up new prospects for the development of scientific research that make it more focused on the development priorities, help it to meet the needs of the industrial sector and increase its ability to technology localization. "
HE Dr. Al-Sultan pointed to the positive role played by the valley through 18 R&D centers represents an investment of more than billion riyals, and provide 600 jobs, in addition to 100 jobs for Saudi women, completion of 42 joint research projects and the training of 250 students in addition to 350 in research and development jobs.

"Even though Dhahran Techno Valley now houses the research centers of the world's largest corporate for oil and gas exploration and production, in addition to energy, industrial control, measurement, materials development and earth sciences companies, the road is still long to reach the ultimate goals of DTV. Therefore the university has begun implementing the second phase of the valley, which will focus on oil and gas downstream industry, renewable energy, water technology, information and communication". He added.
HE pointed that the moving world towards knowledge economy, and to increase the universities developmental role, made us realize the importance of building an integrated system to support innovation and technology, started with the establishment and Dhahran Techno Valley, which represents the nucleus of the system, and after ten years, it has become the largest gathering of research and development centers for the oil, gas and petrochemical companies.
"ARGAS" keenness to join DTV, to establish the company center for Research & Innovation in Earth Sciences and Advanced Seismic Surveys, is an evidence of the company's confidence in the valley potentials and its ability to assist them in achieving the objectives of the center in the local processing of imaging and the geophysical characterization of reservoirs in the Kingdom. "
Dr. Al-Sultan concluded by thanking once again to the HRH the Governor of Eastern Province for his patronization and said: "I thank the distinguished guests, I congratulate officials of ARGAS company for the center ground breaking and for the fiftieth anniversary and in the conclusion, I pray to Allah to preserve the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and His Highness the Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdul Aziz and Crown Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, and to perpetuate our country's security and stability under the wise leadership of our government "
