The festival is organized by the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, Misk Foundation and King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals in conjunction with the World Day for volunteer work.
Each volunteer team formed of 35 students. Team leaders and their assistants are from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, and for Eastern Province all 35 team members are from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals.
The assignment of the leadership of volunteer teams to students from King Fahd University is because of its long experience in volunteer work during the past 9 years. Also, the university is the only Saudi university that participates in the occasion of this year.
15 female students from the KFUPM Schools, third secondary grade will participate in the event and the gathering place will be in Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Center for Science and Technology "Scitech" .
The beneficiary of these programs will be the Dammam males rehabilitation center, Dammam males social care house for in and Dammam females social nursery house.
H.E. Dr. Khaled S. Al-Sultan, KFUPM Rector said that the selection of KFUPM students to lead the volunteer teams confirms the university experience and commitment to the value of volunteer work, and a proof of its conviction that voluntary work is a civilized duty carried out by the student in his homeland service.
He said that the leadership of the KFUPM students for volunteer teams is a sign of the success of the approach the university that volunteering is an important part of the college experience, which the university keens to teach it to students in align with its goals of excellence in educational attainment in order to achieve excellence in values, behavior and skills. KFUPM is eager that each student performs a number of hours of volunteer work before graduating.
