"Sadeem" is not merely a chemical car done by a team of students at King Fahd University, but it is a creative imagination for students that the university treats as "creative engines".

"Sadeem" is a “dream” become a "reality". Having proven its superiority in international competitions, Sadeem has won all the awards in the Middle East competition and achieved the first place in all competitions in Bahrain with the participation of 15 countries.

"Sadeem", is a chemical car invented at King Fahd University by chemical engineering students, has won numerous awards since its launch in 2015 and recently landed in Bahrain at the Middle East Process Engineering Conference & Exhibition (MEPEC) achieving the first place in all the competitions “Race, Poster, and Video”.

Dr. Bassem Abu Saud, head of the team said that the qualification for the competition passed through several stages. 15 teams from 15 countries participate in this competition; 5 teams had qualified for the first phase, and 3 teams reached the finals; but KFUPM team won all awards.

Sadeem is preparing to participate in the global competition organized in the United States after two weeks. He added.

The Chem-E-Car “Sadeem” team was able to win second place in the design contest at a global competition held last year in San Francisco, USA, among 42 participant teams in the competition.

SADEEM team consisted of Moez Maaroof, Abd Al-Hamid Shalabi, Abdullah Al-Mohammad, Khalid Mubaraki, Mishari Al-Muhanna, Ziad Al-Ghusoun, Abdul Karim Al-Doulah, Media Group, Hassan Al-Shatti and Mahmoud Al-Shafei, and it was under the supervision of Dr. Bassem Abu Alsaud, supervisor of The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AICHE) branch and KFUPM Chemical Engineering Club, with Dr. Mohammed Bashamakh Head of Chemical Engineering Department.

Dr. Abu Al-Saud said the team has got the admiration of the contest organizers and participant, and the achievements of Sadeem team was remarkable because of its newly formed, founded in 2015, noting that most of other participating teams are teams who has long experience in this area.

The team has already participated in the contest which was held for the first time outside US in the Kingdom of Bahrain, where the team managed to achieve the second place in "Race" and got the first place in "Design" and "Poster".

The competition is about designing a small car that is environmentally friendly and its operation mechanism depends on chemical reactions provided that no harmful substance is emitted in the process. The competition is a practical application of what the students learned in Mechanical, Electrical and Chemical Engineering. Dr. Abu Al-Saud said.
