Under the auspices of HE Dr. Khalid S. Al-Sultan, the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals organized an Open Day for Employment on Monday 18th December 2017. The four day event was held at the exhibition center at Building 54. The event gathered together a large number of public and private organizations and companies.
Dr. Al Sultan inspected the booths of the participants and previewed the job and
training opportunities offered to graduates and students.
The Open Day aimed to increase the students' awareness of the nature of the
labor market and its new and evolving needs. It also helped new students to
select appropriate majors for study, in accordance with the prevailing
standards of the labor market and students’ personal academic preferences, as
well as developing the crucial relationship between University and society. On
the other hand, the open career day will help define the University’s programs
to the participants and demonstrate the level of academic suitability and excellence
of its students. Meanwhile, this event helped to enhance the relationship with
the industrial and service sectors, and this is one of the most important
principles of KFUPM.
For his part, Dr. Ahmed Alojairi, Dean of Student
Affairs and Chairman of the appropriate organizing committee, stated that the event
provided an opportunity for employers to showcase their activities and to strengthen
their relationship with the university. The event also aimed at educating
