The University of Leeds Delegation Hails the University's Potential and Development

Dr. Khalid Al Sultan, KFUPM Rector, received a delegation from the University of Leeds of the United Kingdom

On Monday, 5th February 2018, His Excellency Dr. Khalid Al Sultan, KFUPM Rector, received a delegation from the University of Leeds of the United Kingdom headed by Professor Yu Pro-Vice-Chancellor: International, accompanied by a number of faculty members and the British Embassy representative.


HE Dr. Al Sultan present a preview on the university, its potentials and its educational, research and social role, and discussed ways of cooperation between the two universities in interested research areas.


The delegation visited the Research Institute, where they were received by Dr. Sahel N. Abdul-Jawad, Vice Rector for Graduate Studies &Scientific Research and Dr. Nasser Al-Aqaili Dean of Scientific Research who gave a presentation on the university and its development.

The delegation members explained the University of Leeds and its educational and research interests. The two sides discussed means of cooperation in fields of common interest and in vital disciplines such as civil and electrical engineering.


The delegation also visited Dhahran Techno Valley and heard a presentation on the DTV role, its efforts in technology transfer and the importance of KFUPM innovative system. The presentation was provided by Dr. Samir Al Bayat, Supervisor of the Technology Transfer, Innovation & Entrepreneurship.


At the end of the visit, the delegation praised the university's capabilities, development and its educational, research and community role.
