HE the Minister of Education inaugurates the 9th Rectors workshop

HE the Minister of Education, Dr. Ahmed Al-Issa, inaugurated the 9th Saudi University Rectors’ workshop

On Wednesday, 28th March 2018, His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Issa, inaugurated the 9th Saudi University Rectors’ workshop held in Riyadh under the title "Excellence in Higher Education". The workshop was organized by the Ministry of Education’s Academic Leadership Center and was supervised by King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals.

HE  the Minister of Education stressed the heightened importance of higher education. His Excellency addressed the Saudi Vision 2030, and its role in the development of the Kingdom's economy, where education is an essential element in this development. His Highness stressed the interest of our government to support all sectors of education and investment, and to achieve the Saudi Vision 2030 goals through its distinguished graduates who are able to keep pace with ambitions and aspirations. 

At the end of his speech, His Excellency thanked Dr. Khalid S. Al-Sultan, the General Supervisor of the Academic Leadership Center and Rector of King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals  and the Center‘s team, for their efforts in supervising the Center and implementing its programs.

For his part, Dr. Khalid S. Al Sultan said that the Center continues to achieve its mission through supporting the Ministry of Education, the university rectors and participants in the Center's activities, and receives the feedback that helps in the development of these activities and programs. He pointed out that the topic of the workshop met with the developments in university education and are in line with contemporary and future requirements of its outputs. The workshop invited four international speakers, leaders recognized for their specialized knowledge and experience in this field.

It is worth noting that the Academic Leadership Center offers various training, orientation and enriching programs for academic leaders in Saudi universities. Dr. Omar Al-Suwailem, Director of the Center, said that over the past nine years, more than 350 workshops have been attended by more than 9500 male and female academic leaders, which has contributed to enhancing their skills and improving their performance in their educational institutions.
