Dr. Hassan Badr

Dr. Hassan Badr, the winner of the Khalifa Award for Higher Education this year (2017/2018). Dr. Badr is a Professor of Fluid and Thermal Sciences in the ME Department of King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals.  He received his BS and MS degrees from Ain Shams University, Egypt and his Ph.D. from the University of Western Ontario, Canada in 1977.  Dr. Badr has taught many undergraduate and graduate courses in the area of thermofluids.  He is the author of more than 140 research papers in addition to 5 patents and one book published by John Wiley & Sons.  Dr. Badr was the ME Editor of the Arabian Journal for Science and Engineering (AJSE) for 18 years and he is currently the Associate Editor of two other international journals.  He received many awards from KFUPM (Distinguished Research Award in 1984, and Distinguished Teaching Award in 1989, Distinguished Academic Advising Award in 1991 and Funded Research Projects Award in 2005) and this is his first award at the level of Arab Countries.
