Prof. Dr. Sahel N. Abduljauwad appointed as the Acting Rector of King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals

Dr. Sahel N. Abduljauwad, the Vice Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, to fill the role of KFUPM Rector.

His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Ahmed Al-Issa, assigned Dr. Sahel N. Abduljauwad, the Vice Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, to fill the role of KFUPM Rector.
Dr. Abduljauwad holds a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals in 1978 and received his Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado-Bounder in 1985.

 Dr. Abduljauwad is a fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers. He served as Chair of the Civil Engineering Department (1990-1996), Director of Academic Development Center (1999-2002), and Dean of Academic Development (2002-2007). He has published over 100 papers in refereed journals and conference proceedings. Dr. Abduljauwad supervised the preparation of the first strategic plan of King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (2006-2011), and contributed to the development of faculty skills in training, teaching, and evaluation of academic curricula. He is the manager of AAFAQ project for the development of a strategic plan of university education in Saudi Arabia.
