Dhahran Techno Valley Company commends the overall performance of the Research and Development Center in 2017

DTVC praised the overall performance of R&D centers operating in Dhahran Valley Technology.

The Dhahran Techno Valley Company (DTVC), affiliated to King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), praised the overall performance of R&D centers operating in Dhahran Valley Technology, stressing that these centers have attained, in a short time, many of the achievements, which contribute to the promotion and development of the energy sector in the Kingdom and around the world.

 

The annual dinner was held by the company yesterday at the Movenpick Hotel Al-Khobar, where the 2017 performance evaluation of R&D centers was presented. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Sahel N. Abduljauwad, Rector of KFUPM, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dhahran Techno Valley Company and Dr. Mohammed Y. Al-Qahtani, Chairman of the Advisory Committee of DTVC, senior vice president of Upstream.

 

Dr. Abduljauwad expressed his pleasure at the steady and qualitative growth of the partnership that combines Dhahran Techno Valley Group in general with the research and development centers. He expressed the university’s desire to expand these partnerships to open new and advanced scientific and research horizons.

Dr. Abduljauwad stressed the keen interest of the University and the company to overcome any obstacles that may prevent the goals of these centers, especially in the cooperation between DTVC and the industrial and academic institutions in the Kingdom in general, and at KFUPM in particular.

He also expressed his hope that these centers will enhance their efforts towards greater creativity and innovation, and that they will be filled with more distinguished national talent, qualified research teams and advanced technologies, in line with the ambitious goals and aspirations of the Saudi Vision 2030. He, also, stressed the Saudi Aramco’s pivotal role in strengthening Dhahran Techno Valley since its launch.


Dr. Al Qahtani described the relationship between DTVC and R&D Centers at the Science Park as “strategic and historical.” He said “We in the Dhahran Valley are proud of this relationship that is constantly driving us to strengthen our research capabilities and developing the necessary technologies, relying on a generation of Saudi researchers and inventors. With the promotion and dissemination of a culture of innovation, we will ensure that Saudi society has a strong economy based on industry and technology.”

 

On the sidelines of the ceremony , Dhahran Valley presented its newly launched awards to the winners of the two awards, where the research center of Halliburton company Won the Best Performance Award for 2017, whereas the research center of Baker Hughes company won the Best Performance Improvement Award for the same year. These awards are part of the company’s drive to stimulate scientific research centers to develop their performance and deliver high standards year after year.

The ceremony was attended by a number of officials from KFUPM, Saudi Aramco, several executives from companies operating in the Dhahran Techno Valley and a group of specialists.
