The Deanship of Scientific Research Organized a Workshop on "Research Opportunity"

The Deanship of Scientific Research at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) organized the annual workshop on research opportunity for faculty and researchers on Sunday (September 16, 2018).

The Dean of Scientific Research, Dr. Nasser Al-Aqeeli, inaugurated the workshop with an introductory speech about the university’s research programs and what the university expect from its faculty and researchers. He referred to the various programs and KFUPM great support to promote the research and scientific publishing.

The Assistant Dean of Research, Dr. Suhail Al-Dharrab, presented an overview of all the programs and the differences between them, the conditions that must be met to accept the project proposals, in addition to revealing some of the new research programs that were launched this year.

Dr. Ahmad Sorour, Director of Center of Research Excellence in Corrosion, presented an introductory presentation about the center of research excellence. He said that the majority of these centers receive direct support from the Ministry of Education and explained the importance, reasons, objectives and strategies for establishing these centers. He touched upon a number of projects completed in these centers.

Dr. Mohammed Maslehuddin, Center of Engineering Research, presented an introductory review on the contractual research and research opportunities offered by the Research Institute. He clarified the goals and areas of focus of RI- research centers.

Mr. Islam El-Deek, gave a presentation on the cooperation with the Dhahran Techno Valley and the role of the technology sector in supporting the research process.

At the end, the Assistant Dean, conducted and open discussion with the faculty and researchers in which he answered the questions that were asked by the audience.
