In cooperation with Saudi Aramco and Japan Petroleum Institute King Fahd University Holds the Annual Symposium on Petroleum Refining and Petrochemical Technologies

King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), in cooperation with Saudi Aramco, Japan Petroleum Institute and Japan Petroleum Cooperation Center, will hold its 28th Annual Symposium on Oil Refining and Petrochemicals at the Innovation Building in Dhahran Techno Valley on 12-13 November 2018.

Dr. Hassan Saeed Alasiri, Director of the Centre for Refining and Petrochemicals, said “The seminar aims to introduce the participants (professors, researchers, engineers and students) to the latest downstream technologies used in the production of clean fuel, hydrogen and petrochemicals and to strengthen the relationship between the university and the industrial sector in the Kingdom.” 

The symposium program includes (24) technical lectures dealing with topics related to hydrogen energy, desulfurization of heavy petroleum products, the production of aromatic petrochemicals, numerical modeling of interactions, production of polymers, materials used for the storage of solar thermal energy and the use of magnetic resonance imaging in research and development. 

 Professors and researchers from Saudi Aramco, KFUPM, SABIC, KAUST, Honeywell UB, and a number of Japanese specialists from Waseda, Hiroshima, Hokkaido universities, Japan Petroleum Institute, Japan Petroleum Energy Center and the JGC will be in attendance.
