Office of Planning and Quality organized a seminar on Sunday Novermber 4th, 2018 about Institutional Research field.
The seminar, held in building 20, was presented by Dr. Jeffrey Alan Johnson, director of institutional effectiveness, planning, and accreditation support at Utah Valley University .
This seminar was designed for individuals who are new to the field of institutional research (IR). In this seminar, Dr. Jeffrey Johnson reviewed the typical roles and responsibilities associated with IR, highlight useful resources, and learn how to develop connections with others in the IR field. It was is an informative and interactive seminar that is useful to new IR professionals.
The goal of this seminar is that participants gain an understanding of common projects and responsibilities in institutional research. and they become be able to identify the useful resources to aid in their work and professional development. In addition, they become able to learn how to develop relationships with other professionals in the IR field.
Jeffrey Alan Johnson is an internationally recognized leader in strategic planning, institutional research and effectiveness, and information ethics. As Director of Institutional Effectiveness, Planning, and Accreditation Support at Utah Valley University, he serves as a key advisor to the university president and other senior administrators, leading institutional and unit strategic planning and assessment, and playing critical roles in accreditation and major planning, analysis, and policy initiatives across and beyond campus that drive the success of 40,000 students and of UVU’s innovative dual-mission approach to higher education.
