On Monday morning, 12th November 2018, Dr. Sahel N. Abduljauwad, Rector of King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals organized the Open Day for Employment. This activity was set to run over four days and was organized with the cooperation of leading public and private organizations and companies.A number of university officials and representatives of the participating parties attended the opening ceremony, which was held at the Exhibition Center (Building 54).
Dr. Abduljauwad visited the booths of companies participating in the event and learned about the training opportunities they offered to KFUPM students. .
The aim of the Open Day for Employment is to introduce the students, especially
the expected graduates, to the opportunities offered by the participating
companies and to deepen students’ ideas about the nature of the job market and its
academic requirements. The event also aims at educating and informing
students and qualifying graduates to help them meet the needs of the labor
market and to help new students in selecting the appropriate major for study,
according to their personal interest and the prevailing standards of the labor
market.
The Open Day activities included a series of scientific lectures that enriched the event by introducing students to the basic skills involved in writing their curriculum vitae, passing a personal interview and choosing a suitable job.
The Open Day for Employment defined KFUPM ‘s
programs to the participants and highlighted the level of academic qualification
and academic excellence required of its students. This event helps to further enhance
the flourishing relationship with the industrial and service sectors, which is
one of the most important objectives of KFUPM.
The Open Day for Employment reflects the importance of the experience that the University
sees as part of its mission towards human resources development and support for
the efforts of the Saudization

sectors, which helps in developing the performance of the University and
companies and the Kingdom at large.
