AEE Saudi Chapter meeting - Technologies & Solutions for Buildings Energy Efficiency

On Thursday, April 25th , 2019, The Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) Saudi Chapter in collaboration with the Center of Excellence in Energy Efficiency (CEEE) conducted an exclusive meeting to discuss the Technologies & Solutions for Buildings Energy Efficiency, at Dhahran Techno Valley (DTV)-KFUPM. The meeting was sponsored by The Center of Excellence in Energy Efficiency (CEEE) of the Research Institute (RI) at KFUPM.
The Center of Excellence in Energy Efficiency (CEEE) of the Research Institute (RI) at KFUPM is a national and governmental university centre, established on 2016 in line with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s vision 2030 to contribute towards supporting sustainable development, covering energy efficiency solutions, and promoting modern energy technologies and techniques within the country. CEEE offers public services in improving energy efficiency and management by means of disseminating knowledge and training, supporting research and development, promoting innovative technologies and new ideas, and creating public awareness. CEEE also aims to facilitate technology transfer, and applied research in the kingdom.
The Saudi AEE Chapter objective is to increase the level of awareness and technical knowledge within the professional community across the kingdom in the fields of energy efficiency, energy management, renewable energy and sustainability. The Chapter aims to build technical capacity in energy engineering practical applications to help members stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies.
During the meeting, a welcome note was presented by The Association of Energy Engineers Saudi Chapter (AEE), followed by a keynote speech of Dr. Fahad Abdulaziz Al Sulaiman, Director, CEEE, Research Institute (RI) at KFUPM.
The following noteworthy presentations were conducted during the meeting:

- KNX Technology, Latest innovation in Linking IoT, Presentation by HAGER Group
- Saudi ESCOs, Challenges and Opportunities, Presentation by Eng. Khalid Aldawood, EnergyEra
- Thermal Energy Storage & Lighting Towers Technologies: Hybrid (Solar/Wind) Powered Versus Diesel Powered, Presentation by KASAB Green Energy Solutions
The event concluded with an all-round discussion and detailed Q&A session. The CEEE will continue conducting such event in the future.
