Aims to empower promising leaders in Saudi Arabia: KFUPM Students Participate in the Qemam Program

Two students from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) participated in the “Qemam” program, which was held recently in Riyadh.

Two students joined the program, namely, Sultan Al-Aboudi (Industrial Engineering) and Muhammad Al-Saeed (Financial Management). The program included a range of services and programs for participants such as leadership training by professional trainers and executives working in leading companies, special orientation sessions, field visits to a number of leading companies in Saudi Arabia, building strong and continuous relationships with other participants in the program, and membership in the network of “Qemam” graduates. It also publish the CV on Qemem's website and share it with human resources executives and managers.

The program was a unique experience in which we were able to build relationships with outstanding students in the Kingdom, identify leaders of the public and private sector, build relationships with them, and obtain future cooperation opportunities with sponsors, in addition to the development of many skills such as leadership strategies and self-confidence, Sultan Al-Aboudi said.

Muhammad Al-Saeed said that the students’ admission depends on strict criteria including academic performance and social responsibility in addition to the applicant's entrepreneurial spirit. A number of training opportunities and job offers were offered to them following the end of the program, he added.

Supported by a group of leading local and international companies in Saudi Arabia, “Qemam” program aims to find, empower and develop the most promising Saudi male & female students to achieve their career aspirations.

The program, for selected male & female students, provides direct career guidance by leaders in the public and private sectors, leadership training through professionals and executives working in reputable companies, and visits to the offices of leading local and international companies in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The program also provides membership in the “Qemam” graduates Network; receive a medal in recognition of their excellence in a tribute ceremony after completing the program, and their C.Vs will be submitted to the human resources departments of leading companies in the Kingdom to facilitate getting career opportunities.

The program was launched in 2018. More than 13 thousand male & female students applied for it, and 50 of them were admitted to the first batch of the program. More than 18 thousand male & female students applied for the second batch in 2019 and 50 of them were admitted after a rigorous evaluation process, which included two interviews conducted by leaders and executives from the public and private sectors.
