Signing the agreement by Dr. Mesfer Al-Zahrani, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, and Mr. Scott Burnett, Senior Vice President of Operations, Baker Hughes - GE.

KFUPM has signed a framework agreement on research cooperation and technology development with Baker Hughes, GE, one of the University's strategic partners, represented by its research center at Dhahran Techno Valley (DTV).

The agreement was signed by His Excellency Dr. Mesfer Al-Zahrani, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, and Mr. Scott Burnett, Senior Vice President of Operations, Baker Hughes - GE.

The agreement represents an umbrella for cooperation between the two sides in the fields of research and innovation, paving the way for a number of pre-agreed joint projects related to the fields of research, development and commercialization of technology which enhances the utilization of the university's research capabilities in the commercialization and localization of technology to meet the company's main technical challenges in the field of oil and gas and techniques of the fourth industrial revolution that serve the national economy.

The agreement represents an umbrella for cooperation between the two sides .

The agreement was signed during the technology workshop organized by KFUPM for DTV research centers and companies on September 15, 2019, and was attended by (90) participants from KFUPM, DTV Research Technology Centers and Saudi Aramco.

Speaking on behalf of the Rector, Dr. Al-Zahrani stressed that the University has high expectations and trusts on the companies located at Dhahran Techno Valley, as strategic partners in supporting the economic growth of the Kingdom to achieve the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030.
