To Support Social Responsibility Programs Inauguration of "Noraak" Forum at "Scitech" Center

Vice President for Academic Affairs looks at the pavilions of the exhibition accompanying the forum.

On behalf of the University Rector, Dr. Sahel N. Abduljauwad, the Vice rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mesfer M. Al-Zahrani, inaugurated on Thursday (10 October 2019), the activities of the sixth edition of the family forum "Naraak" organized by the Sultan bin Abdulaziz Center for Science and Technology "SciTech", King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, and was held under the slogan "interconnected family .. Safe Society ". The Forum lasted for four days and was attended by a group of experts and specialists in education, psychological, social and administrative sciences. The theme of this year was “Social Responsibility”.

Dr. Mesfer Alzahrani said the Forum (Naraak) aims to raise the level of awareness among various segments of the community and cover many important aspects related to social responsibility.

He pointed out that the university supports the center to provide high efficiency programs. "Naraak" forum continues to be distinguished year after year and is currently in its sixth year. Its impact and continuity is proof of success. KFUPM has multiple partnerships, including the Ministry of Labor, especially in relation to non-profit organizations and areas of voluntary work.

Dr. Al-Zahrani thanked the sponsors and participants in the activities of the Forum, stressing that their interest on sponsorship and participation is evidence of the importance of the Forum and the organizing center.

For his part, Director General of "SciTech" Dr. Hasan Al-Ahmadi said that the Forum has attracted a large number of participants from all sectors of the society. It was attended by a group of experts and specialists in education and social sciences, and became an important occasion for the exchange of information, opinions and experiences. It provides a conducive atmosphere to keep abreast of the latest developments, establish multiple concepts related to the security and safety of society, and provide a community message addressed to all families.

This year's forum sheds light on the reality of social responsibility and adapting it to serve the family and Society. The forum also includes an accompanying exhibition to promote the social responsibility in the Saudi Vision 2030.

He thanked the Princess Seetah bint Abdul Aziz Award for Excellence in Social Work on giving the award of excellence in social work programs and projects to “Naraak” Forum, noting that the honors we received hold us responsible to continue our effort to raise positive behavior towards Education and strengthening the family bond.

Dr. Fahad Al-Maghlouth, Secretary General of the Princess Seetah bint Abdul Aziz Award for Excellence in Social Work, pointed out that the Award focuses on national achievements, Islamic endowment, social work programs and social work pioneers. We are now honoring pioneers of social media activists who serve social activities and programs. We have (105) Active members.

It is worth mentioning that the Forum included an accompanying exhibition and a platform for discussing social ideas and initiatives to promote social responsibility.

The forum includes a number of lectures and workshops for several specialized speakers, including HH Princess Al-Jawhara bint Fahd Al Saud, the former rector of Princess Noura University, Prof. Rashed Al-Sahel, Dr. Mohammad Alnughaimish, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Khulaifi and Prof. Hamoud Al-Qash'an.

The morning session included workshops and worksheets for male and female students, employees in the public and private sectors, male and female teachers and other interested community groups, craftsmen, craftswomen and entrepreneurs in the field of heritage and handicrafts.
