Technical Meeting on Industrial Energy Efficiency

The Center of Excellence in Energy Efficiency (CEEE), KFUPM hosted a technical meeting entitled ‘Industrial Energy Efficiency’ on Wednesday 30th October 2019 in Dhahran Techno Valley (DTV)-KFUPM. This event is one of the activities of the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE)-Saudi Chapter, which was sponsored by CEEE-KFUPM with a purpose of exchanging and debating ideas on energy efficiency initiatives and best practices. The meeting was attended by around 80 specialists in Energy.

At the beginning of the meeting, the AEE-Saudi Chapter member, Eng. Sultan Alharbi has first welcomed the audience and then introduced the speakers. This was followed by an opening address that was presented by AEE-Saudi Chapter President, Eng. Ali Al-Qahtani, entitled ‘AEE-Saudi Chapter’, and a keynote speech about CEEE and its activities that was delivered by CEEE Director, Dr. Fahad Al-Sulaiman.

This event featured two noteworthy presentations by professionals, both of which were centred around steam plant and boiler for industrial applications. The first was on the topic of ‘Steam Cost & Steam Value’ and presented by GAPTECH CEO, Eng. Ahmed Aseeri and the second was on the topic of ‘Boilers Air to Fuel Ratio Optimization’ and presented by Arrazi/SABIC member, Eng. Mahmoud Sami.

The meeting was concluded with an all-round discussion, including a detailed session of questions and answers and award to the speakers.

CEEE is a national centre, established in 2016 in response to the Saudi Arabia’s vision 2030 in order to contribute towards supporting sustainable development, covering energy efficiency and promoting modern energy technologies and techniques within the kingdom. CEEE offers public services in improving energy efficiency and management through disseminating knowledge and training, supporting research and development, promoting innovative technologies and new ideas, and creating public awareness. CEEE also aims to facilitate technology transfer and applied research in the kingdom.
