The event included companies and institutions from several key sectors, namely the governmental, semi-governmental, energy, industrial, financial, information technology, services, retail and consulting sectors.

Dr. Ahmed Alojairi, Dean of Student Affairs and Chairman of the organizing committee, stated that the activity - which was set to run over four days- aimed to enable students, especially those expecting to graduate, to learn more about market trends and available training and employment opportunities, and to increase their knowledge of the needs of the labor market.

Dr. Alojairi pointed out that this occasion helps new students to form a clear picture of the scientific academic disciplines suitable to their abilities and personal preferences, to choose a major according to the objective prevailing criteria of the labor market and to their personal standards, as well as enabling the distinguished cooperation between KFUPM and various sectors of society.

The Open Day for Employment aims to familiarize the employment providers with the university’s specializations, the academic programs and the professional education that it offers to its students. It also aims to teach students effective job search skills, including how to write a CV and pass a personal interview.
