With the Participation of Over 400 Students from 39 Universities Two Student Teams Won the First and Second Places in the NEOM Artificial Intelligence Challenge

Two student teams win the first and second places in the NEOM Artificial Intelligence Challenge.

Two student teams from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals won first place in the energy track and second place in the entertainment track in the NEOM Artificial Intelligence Challenge. The NEOM AI Challenge is an initiative under the Global AI Summit targeting students from Saudi universities to solve challenges in NEOM using Artificial Intelligence. The Saudi Data & Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) is supervising and hosting the competition in the King Abdul-Aziz International Conference Centre in Riyadh. The NEOM AI Challenge concluded its activities on Wednesday and Thursday (21 and 22 October 2020). Over 400 males and females from 39 Saudi universities in the Kingdom took part in the challenge.

The winning student team for first place in the energy track included: Al-Walid Khaled Abdul-Hamid Al-Faqih (Electrical Engineering), Khaled Walid Jafli Al-Muhammad (Industrial and Systems Engineering), Obadah Ghassan Faisal Al-Zeebak (Electrical Engineering), and Wael Yousef Muhammad Suleiman (Electrical Engineering).

The team winning second place in the entertainment track for the "New Journey" project.

The second-place winning team in the entertainment track included: Ahmed Muhammad Ali Al-Sabiani (Marketing), Khaled Rashad Hamza Madani (Industrial and Systems Engineering), Abdullah Ahmad Abdullah Al-Salama (Computer Science), Abdullah Abdullatif Mustafa Barnawi (Computer Science), and Muhammad Saad Ahmed Al-Ghamdi (Finance).

The winners of the three tracks, namely energy, entertainment, and mobility, were crowned during the Global AI Summit, with prizes worth more than 500,000 riyals.
