Under the Auspices of the Governor of the Eastern Province... BENAA Charity Association for Orphans Care held the 3rd scientific camp for orphans in partnership with KFUPM

On Saturday, 4th January 2020, and under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province, and in partnership with the King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, the Eastern Province Charity Association for Orphans Care (BENAA) organized the third scientific camp for orphans (MISBAR 3). MISBAR 3 will last for eight days, and will be attended by 150 orphans of distinguished male and female students at the secondary level from various orphan care associations and their branches in the Kingdom.

Sixty-nine Companies and Institutions Participate in the Open Day for Employment at KFUPM

On Monday morning, 9th December 2019, Dr. Sahel N. Abduljauwad, Rector of King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, inaugurated the Open Day for Employment in which 69 governmental and private companies participated. This was the largest number of entities participating in this event in the last 5 years.

Dr. Abduljamiu Amao receives the Allan Higgins Award of the Micropalaeontological Society

Dr. Abduljamiu Amao of the Center for Integrated Petroleum Research has been awarded the 2019 Alan Higgins Award for Applied Micropalaeontology. Dr. Amao is the second researcher from KFUPM to receive this prestigious award from the Micropalaeontological Society – the first such award to a KFUPM scientist was given to Dr. Eiichi Setoyama in 2016.

On Monday, November 4, 2019, the Minister of Labor and Social Development, Eng. Ahmed Al-Rajhi, visited King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM). Earned 3 Patents: Research project to convert carbon dioxide into hydrocarbon products and mitigate global warming

Carbon dioxide gas is a major contributor to the greenhouse effect and has been recognized as a principle source of global warming. Various initiatives have been carried out across the globe to mitigate carbon dioxide emission. The world consumes approximately one billion barrels of oil equal to atmospheric release of 1 trillion pounds of CO2 for each 12 days, which is creating serious problems such as global warming, drought and deforestation affecting living conditions on earth and drastic climate change. The new study revealed a linear link between emissions of CO2 and the loss of Arctic sea ice, which has shrunk by half in the last 40 years. The link enables people to understand their own contribution to climate change.
