KFUPM to the Fourth Place in the World in the Number of Patents
King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) rose to the fourth place worldwide in 2018 according to the annual ranking of the American National Academy of Inventors and Intellectual Property Owners for universities in terms of the number of patents registered in the United States. This is the second appearance of KFUPM within the list of the top ten universities in the world. KFUPM achieved the sixth place in 2017. June 11, 2019
A Newly Commercialized Chemical for Treating Unwanted Residues in Oil Industry
KFUPM has developed a new chemical product that allows oil companies to process different residues produced during oil and gas drilling and production operations. This product is unique in its operation and provides a solution that significantly improves the environmental health and safety. KFUPM has licensed the technology to SAS Environmental Services company that is renowned for oilfield waste processing products. The company is working to integrate its precision technologies with University technology to provide greater benefits to the sector and set new standards for industrial performance. March 3, 2019
KFUPM Signs Cooperation Agreement with Industrial Company to Commercialize Research Products
On Monday 18 February 2019, KFUPM signed a cooperation agreement with Al Saidi Chemical Industries Co. to evaluate one of KFUPM’s newly developed inventions. KFUPM signed agreements with industrial companies for marketing their inventions
On Wednesday, December 5, 2018, KFUPM signed five agreements for marketing a number of its research products and patents with four international and local companies. The event marks a milestone in the history of the University and signifies the beginning of the second stage of the University’s innovation strategy that represents commercialization and marketing of the technologies produced by the University by transforming them into economic outputs and technical products. ADNOC signs a cooperation agreement with KFUPM
On Sunday 11th November 2018, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has signed an agreement with King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) to study potential opportunities for research and development, promoting the training programs for KFUPM students at ADNOC and grant the Company’s employees admission to graduate programs at KFUPM.
