Female Student Team Awarded a Silver Medal in Paris
A team of talented students from the Bioengineering and Computer Science departments at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) proudly brought home a silver medal from the prestigious International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) competition held in Paris. Competing against over 400 teams from around the globe, the KFUPM team—comprised of Latifat Abdulsalam, Amjad Alshammari, Jood Faqera, Btoul Alkhalil, Abeer Alloush, Rimas Alqahtani, and Amal Khalil—demonstrated outstanding innovation and collaboration in the field of synthetic biology.
Their project highlighted not only advanced technical skills but also KFUPM’s growing reputation as a leader in cutting-edge research, affirming Saudi Arabia’s presence among the world’s top institutions in scientific innovation.
