KFUPM Broadens Global Horizons with Summer Training Program

King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) has taken significant strides in enhancing its global footprint by offering its students invaluable international training opportunities. This proactive approach aligns with KFUPM's commitment to fostering global perspectives and encouraging cultural exchange among students. Through strategic collaborations with international companies, KFUPM has opened doors for its students to gain hands-on experience in varied work environments worldwide.

Last summer, more than 160 KFUPM students embarked on a transformative journey to fulfill their training requirements overseas. With the participation of over 20 renowned partners across 18 countries, students had the unique opportunity to engage with different industries and cultures, enriching their academic and professional growth.

In collaboration with our strategic partner Saudi Aramco, the program included industry leaders such as SLB, JGC, Halliburton, Sinopec, Baker Hughes, NESR, and TAQA, catered to students majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Petroleum Engineering. These students trained in diverse locations including the USA, UK, Turkey, France, Italy, Mexico, China, and Singapore, expanding their knowledge within real-world settings.

"The experience of working abroad is invaluable in shaping our students' understanding of the global market," said Dr. Turki Baroud, Dean of Global Engagement at KFUPM. "It exposes them to international standards, broadens their cultural perspectives, and builds a foundation for global networking."

Following the success of this summer’s program, KFUPM aims to expand its partnerships further, encouraging more companies to host students and more students to take advantage of this unique initiative. KFUPM continues to empower students with opportunities that enhance their readiness for a dynamic and interconnected world.
