KFUPM Career Fair Connects Students with Top Employers

King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) is set to host its annual Career Fair on Monday, October 28, 2024, at Building 54 on campus. This prominent event will bring together top organizations from both the public and private sectors, creating an exceptional opportunity for KFUPM students and recent graduates to connect with potential employers and explore diverse career and internship opportunities. The event also provides participating companies a chance to engage with the university’s latest advancements and strategic initiatives.

Since its first Career Fair in 1984, KFUPM has expanded the initiative to include two annual events: a Career Fair in the first semester and a Career Day in the second. This approach reflects the university’s commitment to supporting students beyond academics, equipping them with real-world experiences and direct access to the job market.

In his opening remarks, KFUPM President Dr. Muhammad Al-Saggaf highlighted the university’s focus on global experience, with 20% of students this year participating in internships abroad in countries such as Japan, Mexico, Romania, and Singapore. He explained that this international exposure is part of KFUPM’s commitment to develop six key traits in students: self-reliance, high ambition, global experience, multidisciplinary skills, research capabilities, and entrepreneurship. Dr. Al-Saggaf shared that KFUPM aims to expand international internship participation to over 40% next year, with an ultimate goal of 100% participation, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared to thrive in diverse global environments.

Career Fair will feature a range of workshops and lectures led by academics and industry professionals, covering essential topics such as interview skills, personal branding, handling challenging interview questions, and managing stress. These sessions equip students with valuable insights and practical skills, while the event itself allows for direct networking with leading employers. Notably, many companies will conduct on-the-spot interviews, providing direct career opportunities for soon-to-be graduates and cooperative and summer training placements for undergraduates.

The event is generously sponsored by major organizations, including Saudi Aramco as the official sponsor, the National Development Fund as the platinum sponsor, and gold sponsors such as the Saudi Exchange and the Saudi Industrial Development Fund.
