On May 12, 2025, the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Sustainable Energy Systems (IRC-SES) at KFUPM held its annual Innovation Day, showcasing the university’s leadership in sustainable energy research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The event highlighted major achievements from the past year, celebrated national partnerships, and recognized outstanding participants from various programs.
Key partners were honored, including K.A.CARE for its successful joint KACARE Energy Research and Innovation Center (ERIC) and the last patch of fellowship program, KACST and SEEC for their role in joint Center of Excellence in Energy Efficiency (CEEE), and NIDLP for supporting the Renewable Energy Technology Incubator (RETI). The day also featured over 30 prototypes, 47 research posters, and the 50K Prototype Competition, with awards going to top-performing student teams.
Drawing more than 115 attendees from academia, government, and industry, the event reinforced KFUPM reaffirmed its role as a national engine for interdisciplinary innovation, preparing future leaders to drive energy sustainability, resilience, and economic transformation.
