As part of the KFUPM International Visits Program, a group of students embarked on a remarkable journey to the United Kingdom, an experience that went far beyond sightseeing. The trip, which aligns with KFUPM’s Seven Student Habits, fulfilled the “Global Experience” requirement designed to equip students with a deeper understanding of learning and leadership in an international context.
From Oxford’s historic streets to Cambridge’s inspiring colleges, every stop revealed how knowledge can shape cities, cultures, and generations. Students described these places as “living classrooms” where history and innovation coexist, inspiring them to reflect on how ideas can build nations—and transform individuals.
The delegation was divided into four specialized teams—Media & Content, Management, Finance, and Cultural & Activities—each contributing to the success of the journey. Through planning, capturing key moments, or sharing cultural insights, students learned to lead, collaborate, and adapt in real time.
Local communities in the UK welcomed the students with warmth and curiosity, turning casual encounters into meaningful cross-cultural conversations. For many, it was a reminder that knowledge truly has no borders.
Reflecting on the experience, one student shared:
“This trip taught us that being a KFUPM student isn’t just about academic excellence, it’s about lifelong curiosity and the courage to explore the world.”
The KFUPM International Visits Program continues to nurture globally aware, culturally grounded leaders who carry the university’s spirit of discovery wherever they go.
