A Memorable Day: KFUPM’s 5K Run Unites the Community

King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) successfully hosted the 5K Run for Males under the patronage of University President Dr. Muhammad M. Al-Saggaf. The event brought together participants from the KFUPM community, showcasing a shared commitment to fitness and camaraderie.

Event Highlights:

• A total of 1,989 participants registered, with 1,596 completing the race, setting a new record for the event.
• The race featured 10 participant categories, including Prep Year students, College students, Master’s and Ph.D. students, Deans, Chairpersons and Directors, Faculty, Staff, Alumni, Schools, and the broader community.
• Dr. Wail Falath (Dean of the College of General Studies), Dr. Khalid Alanezy (Dean of Student Affairs), and Dr. Khalid Alkhriji (Saudi Universities Sports Federation) presented awards to the winners, recognizing their outstanding performances.
• All participants received T-shirts, caps, and race numbers, fostering a sense of unity and engagement.

The overwhelming response to the event highlighted the growing enthusiasm for sports and wellness within the KFUPM community. The Physical Education Department, under the College of General Studies, in collaboration with the Deanship of Student Affairs, expressed its appreciation for the strong participation and support, reaffirming KFUPM’s dedication to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle among students, faculty and staff.
