A Sweet Summer Siesta at Al Jabal Restaurant

This summer, KFUPM’s Al Jabal Restaurant and Lounge hosted two well-attended luncheons celebrating the season’s juiciest stars, namely strawberries and watermelon. The strawberry-themed lunch took place on Wed, June 25th, followed by the watermelon one only a week later, on July 2nd. Part of KFUPM’s ongoing series of themed lunches, the events offered a refreshing siesta for faculty, students, and staff alike.

Guests were welcomed by beautifully arranged spreads that turned simple fruits into a culinary experience. From silky mousses and colorful jellies to creative ice creams, the desserts showcased impressive skill and originality. Savory dishes were just as thoughtful, with fresh salads and mains infused with subtle hints of strawberry or watermelon, adding a surprising twist to familiar favorites.

The creativity and precision of the chefs was highly complimented among attendees, who lined up early on to ensure they don’t miss any options. The attention to detail, from the expert flavor pairing to the meticulous fruit carvings, made a strong impression before the first bite was even taken.
