Every Early Step Matters: Breast Cancer Awareness Event

Promoting the importance of early detection and preventive care, the KFUPM Medical Center organized a breast cancer awareness campaign titled “Every Early Step Matters” on October 14 and 15, 2025. The initiative aimed to foster a stronger understanding of breast cancer, dispel misconceptions, and encourage regular screening among women in the KFUPM community, including students, faculty, and staff.

Held at the Medical Center’s Training Hall, the event featured interactive and educational booths led by the Health Education Team. In collaboration with the Mai Al-Jabr Center, a mobile mammogram unit was provided, enabling attendees to undergo screening in a comfortable and private setting.

The campaign received strong engagement, with 235 women benefiting from awareness sessions and initial checkups over two days. Volunteers from various departments contributed by supporting event coordination and providing direct health education to participants.

In a spirit of inclusivity, the center also welcomed a group of individuals with disabilities on October 15. The program included an adapted awareness session and sign language interpretation to ensure accessibility for all attendees.

This initiative reflects the Medical Center’s commitment to advancing preventive healthcare, empowering women, and promoting community well-being.
