Exciting Kick-Off to Orientation Week

KFUPM’s campus buzzed with energy as Orientation Week officially began, welcoming the newest batch of students to their much-anticipated journey. From the early morning hours, the university was alive with movement as students collected their IDs, dorm keys, and car permits, while different student affairs units guided them through housing, activities, training, and more. Smiles, anticipation, and a shared sense of achievement filled the air.

For many, it was a dream coming true. “Words can’t describe my feelings right now as I worked hard to become a KFUPMer and everything I dreamed about yesterday has now become a true reality,” said Zainab Al-Omran, a Bioengineering student from Qatif. Her words reflected the deep pride felt by many new KFUPMers as they officially began their academic journey.

The afternoon program brought a vibrant shift in atmosphere. The introductory meeting between the Student Affairs department and new students was more than just formalities; it was filled with interactive competitions, fun activities, and prizes that set the tone for a supportive and engaging community. Volunteers and staff guided the students with care, ensuring no one felt lost. As Dona Alhazmi, a Bioengineering student from Jazan, put it: “Everything was organized and clear, the process went very smoothly, all the help we received from the staff and the volunteers, they answered our inquiries and were with us the whole day.”

For many, KFUPM wasn’t just another university; it was a lifelong goal achieved. Abdullah Barasheed, an Information Science and Engineering student from Jeddah, recalled the moment he received his acceptance letter: “I jumped with joy, I cried and ran to my parents to tell them the good news, and they were extremely happy. We all got extra emotions that day and ended up having tears from happiness.”

Others highlighted the global prestige that brought them to Dhahran. Abdulaziz AlQahtani, an Industrial Engineering and Information Systems student from Riyadh, shared: “KFUPM is ranked high amongst worldwide leading universities; outcomes from this university speak for themselves, all their alumni now work in top occupations. The moment you meet with a KFUPMer, you will be impressed by their mindset; they are always distinct and unique.”
