KFUPM made a strong impact at the Middle East Oil & Gas Show and Conference (MEOS GEO) held September 16-18, 2025 at the Exhibition World in Bahrain. The event is a premier assembly of upstream oil, gas, and geosciences professionals from around the world. Over three days, the event features over 800 sessions of technical and strategic content alongside more than 180 exhibitors, offering attendees hands-on insight into emerging technologies, best practices, and rising challenges.
KFUPM’s booth was a focal point of activity, drawing continuous interest from visitors eager to learn more about its contributions to energy research and education. Representatives from the College of Petroleum Engineering and Geosciences (CPG) led KFUPM’s participation, delivering technical presentations, displaying informative posters, and engaging with industry leaders. The high turnout at the booth created opportunities for meaningful conversations that extended well after the event.
KFUPM’s primary objective at MEOS was to strengthen ties with industry partners while presenting its strengths in three key areas: advanced technology development, the success of its graduates, and the breadth of its existing industry collaborations. The CPG highlighted how its innovative curriculum equips students with practical and theoretical knowledge, while its Center for Integrative Petroleum Research (CIPR), the college’s research arm, demonstrated its role in bridging academic inquiry with real-world applications.
A significant moment came on the opening day, when Mr. Nasir Khalid Al-Naimi, Saudi Aramco Upstream President, visited KFUPM’s booth. His presence marked the 10-year anniversary of the strategic partnership between Saudi Aramco and KFUPM’s CPG, underscoring the university’s long-standing role in advancing industry-focused research and education alongside the world’s leading energy companies.
This year marked KFUPM’s second participation at MEOS GEO, building on a successful debut at the 2023 edition. The university’s return underscores the positive impact of its earlier involvement and reaffirms its position as a trusted contributor to the region’s energy sector. With the College of Petroleum Engineering & Geosciences (CPG) ranked 5th globally in Petroleum Engineering and 7th in Mining Science & Engineering, KFUPM continues to strengthen its role in preparing highly qualified talent and delivering research with real-world impact.
