KFUPM & PSI: Advancing Nuclear Engineering Collaboration

King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) and the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI), Switzerland, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation in nuclear engineering. This collaboration focuses on education, training, and research, reinforcing KFUPM’s commitment to scientific innovation and global energy advancements.

Led by Dr. Afaque Shams, Director of the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Industrial Nuclear Energy at KFUPM, and Prof. Andreas Pautz, Head of the Center of Nuclear Division and Science at PSI, the agreement establishes pathways for joint research, knowledge exchange, and specialized training programs.

The MoU was officially signed by Dr. Muhammad Al-Saggaf, President of KFUPM, and Prof. Christian Rüegg, Director of PSI, strengthening academic and research ties between the kingdom and Switzerland.
