After three weeks of immersive learning inside university laboratories and research halls, KFUPM celebrated the graduation of more than 280 male and female students from the Mawhiba Academic Enrichment Program. The event took place on Thursday, July 17, 2025, in the presence of Dr. Ali Al-Shaikhi, KFUPM’s Vice President for Research and Innovation.
The ceremony featured an exhibition showcasing 65 student-led projects developed across diverse academic tracks, including electrical engineering, design engineering, aerospace, and cybersecurity. These projects reflected students’ ability to transform theoretical knowledge into real-world applications, supported by KFUPM faculty members.
Nearly 500 attendees took part in the event, including the families of participating students, who expressed pride in their children’s accomplishments. They shared a unified hope to see them one day as students and graduates of KFUPM.
The program is designed to promote scientific thinking and critical inquiry through a structured academic curriculum, hands-on experiments, and an environment that encourages creativity and innovation. Students received close mentorship from a team of academic and technical experts.
To deepen their experience, participants had the opportunity to engage with inspiring local role models, including Saudi students who previously represented the Kingdom at the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). These guests shared their stories and encouraged students to pursue global excellence in science and research.
Students also met with industry leaders and executives from advanced industrial and technology sectors. They shared their practical insights and opened new perspectives on professional paths, bridging academic content with real-world opportunities beyond the classroom.
The experience extended further, beyond academics, incorporating interactive workshops and field activities that strengthened peer connections, broadened horizons, and enhanced personal skills.
The program reflects KFUPM’s broader commitment to research, innovation, and nurturing scientific talent among the next generation.
