On December 12, 2023, King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) Organized a remarkable Design Gallery highlighting the cutting-edge design solutions and prototypes of Integrated Design (ITD) students. This event, which happens at the end of each semester as part of the ITD program’s tradition, offers a glimpse into the creative and interdisciplinary approaches the program embodies. Organized by the Integrated Design Department of the College of Design and Built Environment (CDB), the event brought together ITD students, faculty, coordinators, and visitors for an inspiring showcase.
The Integrated Design Program, the first interdisciplinary initiative of its kind in Saudi Arabia, combines design, computing, engineering, and business in one program. It equips students with the latest technologies in 3D modeling, digital fabrications, and mixed realities, fostering innovative problem-solving techniques to improve quality of life and address future challenges.
One of the standout prototypes came from ITD student Fatma Al-Amir. She shared, "My project involved designing product packaging and creating an attractive appearance to enhance business marketing. These skills reflect ITD's interdisciplinary approach, centered on design. The program's futuristic focus prepares us to innovate on developing creative design solutions for future challenges."
This event highlighted the program’s commitment to developing the next generation of designers who can lead the way in shaping the future of design in the country.
