The Saudi Next-G Summit, held on January 22-23, 2025, at the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) in Dhahran, in strategic partnership with the Communications, Space and Technology Commission, successfully brought together global visionaries, researchers, and industry leaders for two days of dynamic discussions and interactions. Under the theme, "The Journey Towards Sustainable, Cognitive, and Secure Connectivity," the Summit aimed to explore groundbreaking technologies and innovations that promise to drive a sustainable, intelligent, and secure connected world.
The Summit featured eight insightful keynote speeches from invited speakers representing prestigious institutions worldwide, as well as two engaging panel sessions. With over 300 registered attendees, the event became a significant platform for fostering interdisciplinary collaborations and forming strategic partnerships among diverse technology sectors. Attendees explored cutting-edge breakthroughs in areas such as digital twin/metaverse, artificial intelligence, ORAN, non-terrestrial networks, smart and autonomous systems, immersive communications, and cybersecurity.
The Summit was attended by several leaders from entities such as the Communications, Space and Technology Commission, the Digital Government Authority, and several heads of related companies.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Ali Al-Shaikhi, the Vice President for Research Innovation at KFUPM, set the stage of the event, stating: "Here, we will also explore the potential of Next-G to transform industries, redefine value chains, and elevate our approach to tackling global challenges, ensuring we harness the power of several technologies in meaningful and impactful ways."
