KFUPM Leads the Arab Region for a Fourth Consecutive Year

Each new edition of QS’s university rankings offers a look at how institutions around the world are progressing, both in their overall performance and within specific academic fields. For the 2027 Arab Region rankings, KFUPM’s progress landed it at the top for the fourth consecutive year, surpassing 325 universities from 20 Arab countries.

This result is particularly impressive given that last year’s edition included only 296 universities, demonstrating how the university continues to maintain the lead even as the competition grows. Behind this consistency is ongoing work to strengthen academic programs and connect research with practical needs. KFUPM has attracted faculty and students from around the world while expanding its relationships with industry. These efforts contributed to improvements in all three international indicators.

Recognition among academics and employers also formed a major part of this year’s achievement. KFUPM earned a full score for Employer Reputation, attesting to the high regard it has earned amongst employers. Its academic reputation has also continuously improved, alongside its growing international participation.

These results have been guided by a focus on practical outcomes. KFUPM’s research priorities address the needs of industry and society, with an emphasis on tangible results and solutions that can benefit people and companies globally. The university continues to pursue this direction as it develops its research capabilities and academic programs.

The regional result also comes during a period of growing international recognition. KFUPM reached 63rd in the QS World University Rankings 2027 and entered the Financial Times Global Executive MBA Top 100 for the first time, as the only Arab university on the list.

Together, these achievements recognize the significant progress taking place throughout the university’s academic and research activities. A fourth consecutive year leading the Arab region marks another milestone in that work, as KFUPM continues to develop its education and research in response to real global needs.
