The walk for health’s female-only edition brought a wonderful sense of community and energy back on Saturday, September 20, 2025, with an inspiring 1,219 participants joining the annual 5-kilometer walk. People of all ages, from 10 to 60 years old, came together under the patronage of KFUPM President, Dr. Muhammad Al-Saggaf, and organized by the Department of Physical Education (College of General Studies) in collaboration with Student Affairs. Over the years, this event has become one of the university’s most cherished wellness traditions, radiating warmth and spirit.
Starting small with just 650 participants in 2022, the Walk has steadily grown, reaching 1,065 in October 2023, 1101 in February 2024, and 1,040 in October 2024- culminating in this year’s incredible turnout. This steady increase highlights KFUPM’s heartfelt commitment to promoting health, active lifestyles, and community bonding.
The event was a joyful gathering of a diverse group- faculty, staff, students at different levels, alumni, school groups, and community members- each adding their unique energy and making the walk a true celebration of wellness, inclusion, and unity.
To make the day even more special, everyone received T-shirts, caps, and chest numbers, with exciting raffle draws adding to the fun. Prizes were handed out by Dr. Wail Falath, Dean of the College of General Studies, who also shared an inspiring motivational message.
The Department of Physical Education and the College of General Studies are truly proud of the incredible enthusiasm shown, emphasizing how the Walk for Health has blossomed into a heartfelt tradition of encouragement, well-being, and togetherness at KFUPM.
