The Lead Forward Executive Program, tailored for KFUPM’s executive leaders, has marked a key milestone with the completion of its final module, “Leading in a VUCA World.” Held from September 29 to October 2, the sessions were led by Dr. Robert Hausmann from Harvard Business Impact and brought together the university’s senior leaders for an intensive exploration of leadership in volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous environments.
The module combined interactive simulations, case-based learning, and team discussions to help participants reimagine innovation, refine decision-making, and strengthen leadership agility. Dr. Hausmann emphasized that effective leadership in uncertain times depends on continuous learning and reflection, principles that reinforce the value of sustained professional growth.
This fourth and final module is part of a year-long journey that began with the program’s kickoff meeting on February 17, attended by KFUPM President Dr. Muhammad Al-Saggaf, alongside several vice presidents and deans. The official launch for all participants followed on April 9, 2025, setting in motion a comprehensive experience that included four in-person modules and a series of online Harvard-led thought leader sessions.
As the program transitions into its Coaching Phase, participants will continue their development through group coaching sessions delivered in partnership with Harvard Business Impact and Global Coach Group. This next step aims to translate learning into practice, enabling leaders to apply the program’s lessons within their teams and departments.
With around 70 participants, Lead Forward has encouraged collaboration, insight-sharing, and a deeper understanding of how to lead with purpose in evolving contexts. More than a leadership training, the program reflects KFUPM’s sustained commitment to supporting innovation, resilience, and purposeful excellence across the university community.
