A steady line of riders set off on Saturday, February 14, 2026, as KFUPM held its 10KM cycling race for men, under the overarching fitness initiative “Let’s Cycle.” The race was held under the patronage of KFUPM President, Dr. Muhammad M. Al-Saggaf, one week after the ladies’ edition.
By the end of the event, 144 cyclists had completed the 10-kilometer route. Among those registered, students represented 81% of participants, representing most academic levels, from Preparatory Year to graduate students. Faculty members, staff, and university leaders also took part, reflecting engagement across the entire campus community.
Energy carried the group forward from start to finish. Riders moved in clusters, setting a steady rhythm along the course. Some pushed for speed, others paced themselves, yet the shared effort was visible throughout. Determination was matched with moments of laughter and encouragement, creating an atmosphere that balanced competition with camaraderie.
The event was structured to ensure accessibility for all registered cyclists. Bicycles and protective equipment, including helmets and guards, were provided to participants, allowing those without personal gear to compete comfortably and safely. The program concluded with a raffle draw that awarded prizes to several participants.
The race forms part of the university’s broader efforts to enhance wellbeing across its community. Through initiatives such as “Let’s Cycle,” KFUPM continues to strengthen unity, encourage inclusive participation, and support healthy lifestyles for students, faculty, staff, and leadership alike.
