Dhahran, Saudi Arabia – MathConnect 2024, the International Conference on Mathematics and its Applications, took place at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM). The conference drew global attention from December 10 to 12, with over 320 participants from 20 countries and 54 institutions.
Under the theme of "Connecting Through Mathematics," MathConnect 2024 brought together experts and enthusiasts from diverse mathematical backgrounds worldwide to foster collaboration and innovation. The event featured over 20 international speakers and explored five cutting-edge topics: Graphs and Combinatorics, Fixed Point Theory, Analytical and Modeling Techniques, Stochastic Processes, and the transformative roles of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. Dr. Abdullah Saad Sultan, Dean of the College of Computing & Mathematics at KFUPM, highlighted the conference's mission: “In this conference, we aim to connect, focusing on mathematics and statistics as key fields driving the advancements we inspire at the University.”
Organized by KFUPM's Institute for Knowledge Exchange (KIKX) and the Mathematics Department, the event featured 5 keynote speeches, 12 talks, and 33 technical presentations across 20 parallel sessions, with over 70 abstract submissions presented. A highlight of the program included a special ceremony honoring distinguished faculty from the Mathematics Department, celebrating their contributions to the academic and research landscape.
Refereed papers from MathConnect 2024 will be published in a special issue of the Arabian Journal of Mathematics, further cementing the conference’s impact in advancing mathematical research and its real-world applications.
