The male-only edition of KFUPM’s Walk for Health returned stronger than ever on Saturday, September 13, 2025, bringing together over 2,000 participants for its annual 5-kilometer walk. Held under the patronage of KFUPM President, Dr. Muhammad Al-Saggaf, and organized by the Physical Education Department (in the College of General Studies) in collaboration with the Student Affairs, the event has become one of the university’s most anticipated community wellness traditions.
Since its introduction in 2022, the Walk has steadily grown from 1,472 participants in its first year to 1,539 in 2023, and 1,778 in 2024, culminating in this year’s record-breaking turnout. This steady rise reflects how the university's commitment to raising health awareness and promoting active lifestyles is resonating with the community.
The walk featured a number of participant categories: deans, chairmen and directors, faculty, staff, prep year and college students, master’s and Ph.D. students, alumni, schools, and the wider community. This inclusiveness made the Walk a true celebration of wellness and unity.
T-shirts, caps, and chest numbers were distributed to all participants, while raffle draws added an element of surprise and excitement. Prizes were handed out by Dr. Mesfer Al Zahrani, Vice President of Academic Affairs, and Dr. Wail Falath, Dean of the College of General Studies, who also delivered motivational speeches alongside a 15-minute show that energized the crowd.
In closing, the Physical Education Department and the College of General Studies expressed pride in the overwhelming response and community spirit, noting how the Walk for Health has evolved into a tradition of encouragement and togetherness at KFUPM.
