Where Bioengineering Meets Industry

The Bioengineering Department at KFUPM hosted Bioengineering Day on 19 January, 2026, bringing together students, faculty members, postdoctoral researchers, and distinguished members of the Industry Advisory Committee in a vibrant academic–industry gathering. The event created an interactive space where ideas, experiences, and perspectives converged, reflecting the growing importance of bioengineering across research, healthcare, and industry.

Co-organized by the Bioengineering Department with the support of the Deanship of Student Affairs, the event aimed to strengthen connections between academia and industry while raising student awareness of career pathways, applied research, and real-world bioengineering applications. The presence of industry leaders and experts from leading national institutions enriched discussions and highlighted the diverse opportunities available within the bioengineering ecosystem.

Commenting on the event, BIOE Chairman Dr. Yaqub Mahnashi emphasized that Bioengineering Day serves as an annual platform for knowledge transfer, celebrating innovation, and showcasing talent. He noted that by bringing academia and industry together, the department seeks to bridge education with real-world challenges, align academic outcomes with future market needs, and contribute to national development goals in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
