Deputy Governor of Eastern Province Inaugurates the 35th Career Day at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals

His Royal Highness Prince Ahmed bin Fahad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province, inaugurated the annual 35th Career Day on Monday, March 26, 2018. The event was organized by King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals over four days, with the participation of 64 public and private companies and institutions.
Upon his arrival at the event, His Excellency was received at the Exhibition Center (Building 54) by Dr. Khaled S. Al-Sultan, Rector of the University and the participating parties.
The ceremony began with a demonstration about the Career Day history. Career Day is one of the leading ideas adopted by the University; it was first organized in 1983, and the number of participants increased year after year, confirming the university's success in developing distinguished relations with the society sectors and in providing the labor market with the required skilled technical resources.
HRH Prince Ahmed bin Fahad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz patronized the thirty-fifth annual Career Day, touring the pavilions of the participating bodies and learning about the career and training opportunities offered to graduates and students.
His Royal Highness honored the event sponsors, which are Saudi Aramco (Official Sponsor) represented by Eng. Nabil Al Jamea, Vice President for Human Resources; Saudi Telecom Company - Digital Sponsor, Eng. Bandar Qalaji, Director of Recruitment; Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) - Golden Sponsor, Mr. Naser AlNouiser Senior Manager for Employment; Samba Financial Group - Golden Sponsor, and National Commercial Bank - Golden Sponsor.
His Excellency Dr. Khaled S. Al Sultan, KFUPM Rector, expressed his pride for the patronage of His Royal Highness to this event. He described the generous care as an appreciation of the university’s role in preparing and developing the human resources capable of participating in the national development process.
HE also thanked the institutions and companies supporting the event and the participants in these activities, stressing that their renewed commitment to participate reflected the distinguished relations between the society’s sectors and emphasized the distinguished level of KFUPM graduates.
Dr. Ahmed Alojairi, Dean of Student Affairs and Chairman of the Organizing Committee pointed out that the aim of the event, held at the exhibition center (Building 54), is to provide career and training opportunities for KFUPM graduates, as well as to introduce the University's specializations and academic programs. It also provides an opportunity for employers to introduce students to their activities and areas of activity. In addition, the event aims at educating students about the career prospects of various academic disciplines and enhancing the cooperative partnership between the University and a large group of the most important public and private institutions and companies. A further purpose of the event is to identify and teach students the best way to prepare CVs, the effective methods in a job search, and how to pass a personal interview. This information was presented through a series of lectures led by specialists from KFUPM and the participating parties.
“The event is a unique opportunity for the business sectors to meet with distinguished cadres from different disciplines and communicate with them directly”, he added.
