Representing Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Region, KFUPM Team qualified to the SPE International PetroBowl Competition.

The PetroBowl team of KFUPM Petroleum Engineering has been qualified to the international PetroBowl competition representing the SPE Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Regions to be held in 2020 SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition in Denver, Colorado.

Out of twenty-six (26) teams from MENA region universities competed in the local competition, Five (5) teams were qualified for the International competition. The PetroBowl contest is SPE's largest student competition. SPE Chapters from around the world participate in this quick-fire quiz covering a wide range of topics relevant to the E&P industry. Through this contest, the best students display their expertise and knowledge to a global audience.

KFUPM PetroBowl team members were Ahmed Elsayed Abdelaal, Adedimeji Adeyemi, Clement Afagwu, Shams Kalam, and Saudi Yahya Alasiri. The team was supervised by Dr. Rahul Gajbhiye, Assistant Professor in PETE, Dr. Khalid Zidan Abdelgawad, Post-doc fellow and Dr. Dhafer Al-Shehri, Chairman of Petroleum Engineering Department.
