KFUPM Chess Team Makes History: Gold Medal Win

The King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) Chess Team has achieved a landmark victory, securing the university’s first-ever gold medal in the Saudi University Sports Federation Championship. Competing against 32 universities and over 130 players at Al-Baha University, the KFUPM team triumphed in the 9-round Swiss system tournament, a key event in the Federation’s 15th season.

This success underscores KFUPM’s dedication to providing students with opportunities to develop a range of skills—fostering high aspirations, self-reliance, and teamwork across disciplines. Congratulations to our champions on this inspiring achievement!
