His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province, patronized this morning (Tuesday) the launch ceremony of the Career Fair 2026, organized by King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) over three days, with the participation of more than 70 companies and organizations from various sectors.
For his part, KFUPM President, Dr. Muhammad Al-Saggaf, stated that the fair represents a valuable opportunity for the University’s students and graduates to explore available career and training opportunities. He noted that the University is committed to equipping its students to create job opportunities—not merely seek them—by developing their skills and strengthening their leadership capabilities to meet labor market demands.
His Royal Highness emphasized the importance of initiatives that contribute to developing national talent, creating job opportunities for young men and women, and aligning educational outcomes with labor market needs. He noted that investing in people is fundamental to the development journey and a key driver in advancing progress and building a more prosperous future.
During his tour of the exhibition, His Royal Highness visited the booths of participating entities, which included leading companies and institutions from both the public and private sectors.
He added that the University is working to instill seven key habits among its students: high ambition, self-reliance, positivity and excellence, global exposure, multidisciplinary teamwork, scientific research, and entrepreneurship. In line with this approach, nearly 100 male and female students participated in organizing this year’s fair, marking a first-of-its-kind initiative.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, His Royal Highness honored the event’s sponsors: the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources (Platinum Sponsor), Saudi Aramco (Platinum Sponsor), Riyad Bank (Gold Sponsor), and Ceer (Gold Sponsor).
The exhibition was accompanied by a preparatory panel workshop addressing topics such as CV writing skills, talent acquisition mechanisms, and competitiveness in the job market. In addition, specialized career coaching sessions were held, featuring more than 10 internationally certified coaches from the International Coaching Federation (ICF), in collaboration with its Saudi chapter.
The Career Fair aims to provide employment and training opportunities for the University’s students and graduates, as well as external attendees. It also seeks to showcase the University’s ongoing strategic transformation and its recent advancement in global rankings, reaching 67th place to become the first Saudi university ranked among the top 100 universities worldwide.
