King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals Held a Workshop on Supporting Research Projects

The Deanship of Scientific Research at KFUPM organized a workshop on the initiative of the Ministry of Education for International Cooperation and support of research projects on Tuesday (September 4, 2018).

Dr. Nasser Al-Aqeeli, Dean of Scientific Research, stated that the workshop aims to discuss ways of cooperation with the Ministry of Education and provide proposals and inquiries related to the initiative to be studied and responded, in order to support research and facilitate joint research work with foreign universities.

It is the first time that the Ministry of Education supported the financial research projects. He pointed out that KFUPM is working to cooperate with the Ministry, help it to make this initiative a success, enhance international cooperation with foreign universities, and administer the support in an ideal way. This is to be done by sending proposals to the Ministry for study, and benefit from the university’s experience in research work. 

The Assistant Dean of Scientific Research, Dr. Suhail Al-Dharrab, clarified the regulations and requirements that must be met in the research projects and the deadlines for submission of proposals to the Ministry. He referred to the most important fields and disciplines that are focused on, such as research related to the renewable energy and water, in order to keep up with the Saudi Vision 2030.

The Dean of Scientific Research, Dr. Nasser Al-Aqeeli engaged to the inquiries and suggestions of the faculty members, and the most important obstacles that must be overcome to strengthen research cooperation with foreign universities.
