A National Recognition for Energy Efficiency Awareness

On December 12, at the inaugural Energy Efficiency Award Ceremony in Riyadh—held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman—the Center of Excellence in Energy Efficiency at KFUPM received the Saudi Energy Efficiency Awareness and Impact Award, recognizing its continued efforts in advancing energy efficiency awareness and applied learning.

Established in 2016 as a non-profit entity, the Center is dedicated to developing human capabilities in energy efficiency through education, training, and hands-on experience. Its initiatives have benefited hundreds of students and professionals, including more than 300 participants in Energy Week and 640 male and female students through practical training programs, in addition to specialized training for employees from the industrial sector.

Through close collaboration with students, the Center has conducted energy audits for 20 buildings, providing real-world learning opportunities while supporting measurable improvements in energy use. Today, the Center continues to serve as a national reference for energy efficiency awareness and capacity building, aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
